Great Ocean Road Backpackers
Great Ocean Road and Grampians Trail is a backpackers and budget travellers
paradise with an abundance of Hostels and Camping Grounds all along the trail.
Starting or finishing in Geelong towns and hamlets such as Torquay, Anglesea,
Lorne, Apollo Bay (200kms from Melbourne),Cape Otway, Lavers Hill, Princeton,
Port Campbell, (300kms to Melbourne via G.O.R ) Warrnambool, Port Fairy and
Halls Gap in the Grampians (the starting point coming from Adelaide) all have
hostels and other budget accommodation.
Spectacular Coastal scenery world class beaches and surfing , combined with the
rain forests, waterfalls, wildlife (including Kangaroos & Koalas) of the
Grampians and Otway Ranges make the trail one of the worlds great destinations.
Activities include Surfing, Swimming, Fishing, Rock climbing, Mountain Bike and
Walking Trails.

The Great Ocean Road and the Grampians both need
a minimum of 2 days each to explore. A week or more is required to take advantage of the many sights and activities along the Trail. |
1 Day tours are not able to give you time to interact and enjoy these areas or
participate in any activities. 1 day tours to either destination are about 600km
and 12 to 14 hrs mostly spent on the bus.
The Great Ocean Road & Grampians Trail can be included in Melbourne to Adelaide
or Adelaide to Melbourne journey, or a round trip from Melbourne or Geelong.

www.avalonairport.com.au is just 15kms from Geelong or 35kms from the Great
Ocean Road.
Melbourne is 55kms to the east.
